Astrology Series Part 3

Now let us learn how to count the planets from reference points, below is a sample Horoscope for the Date Apr 10 2018 time 16:23 pm Bangalore.

Before learning the counting we have to know that when a person is born on a particular date and time, all the said planets will be placed in the zodiac at a particular sign. What the horoscope of a person shows is the position of these planets at the time of your birth. More over the position of these planets in the signs acts as a reference for predictions, so in the below chart 9 planets are placed in 6 signs as of the above date. Now there is also one more reference point called Lagna/Ascendant which is fixed in the horoscope based on the time of date/time and place of birth. This is very important as it is from this point the position of all the other planets are counted upon.

So for the below example Lagna is located in the sign/rasi of Leo/Simha. Now in the below table I will give the planets the position of planets from the reference point of the Lagna

From the above we should  know that Lagna is always the 1st house, meaning wherever lagna is positioned it will become the first reference sign and from that sign the count will being. If lagna is Aries, then Aries is 1st house and Pisces is 12th house, in the above case Leo is 1st house as Lagna is in Leo and Cancer will be your 12th house. We should take count from lagna only as this is the most important reference point (some say that the sign that moon occupies also acts as a very important reference point just like Lagna)

Why this is necessary to know these reference signs are that, most of the analysis is done based on the sign that a planet or lagna occupies or in which house from Lagna are these planets located. They play an important role in analyzing the strengths of the planet and finally whether it is favorable or otherwise.
